God With Us

Behold, the virgin shall be with child and give birth to a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel”—which, when translated, means, “God with us.” … so that it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. This life that I live now, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave his life for me.
Matthew 1:23 (AMP) Galatians 2:20 (GNT)

Dear Ones: God With Us! Immanuel was the prophesied name given to Messiah. He came as God with us. This was before the completed work of the Cross. Now, on the redemptive side of the Cross He is no longer just Immanuel. He is the Christ who lives in every born-again believer. WOW! What a glorious message!

The birth of Immanuel set in motion a sinless life that was freely offered on the Cross for all mankind. When we sing about His coming, we must not neglect to celebrate the fact that now He lives in us. Salvation begins at the Cross, but there is a glorious work set before everyone who is in Christ. Yes, to become a unique expression of His life as Paul so eloquently states in His letter to the Galatians.

We are to live by faith in His finished work. He has given us the right to exercise His authority over all the power of evil. (See Luke 10:19.) It is now our privilege to trust Him and walk in the fullness of our spiritual inheritance in Him.

As you celebrate His incarnation as God with Us, be mindful of Christ now living in you. He promised to never leave you nor forsake you. Let His joy bubble up in your heart today as you think on these things. It is a good day to remember, He is for you, not against you. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
