My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is born of God and experiences a relationship with God. The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love—so you can’t know him if you don’t love. This is how God showed his love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might live through him. This is the kind of love we are talking about—not that we once upon a time loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to clear away our sins and the damage they’ve done to our relationship with God.
Dear Ones: God Sent His Only Son! Sometimes the Message Bible says things so clearly that the words come alive and almost jump off the page. The Word of God became a human being, sent by the Father to redeem mankind. What a mission statement! But once the Word of God is sent out it does not return void or fails to accomplish the purpose for which It was sent. This is how the Father showed His love for mankind; He sent His best.
As we remember the birth of Christ, it is also a season to remember why He came. The Love of God was the prime motivation behind the Incarnation. Love was the divine root behind every act of Christ’s 3 ½ years of His earth-bound ministry. Love was the power that kept Him on the Cross not the natural nails. The Love of God raised Christ from the dead and seated Him at the right hand of the Throne of Power.
If the Father loves you like this, why should you believe the lies of the enemy. The enemy bombards your mind with lying thoughts trying to get you to doubt the Father’s love and concern for you. When you sow the words of truth about the greatness of the Father’s love into your heart, then the lying words of unbelief lose their influence on you.
May the truth that God sent His only Son become a personal revelation of the greatness of His love for you, your family, and your nation. Consider the enormity of His love toward mankind to send His Son to save us. Think on these things and walk as an overcomer this week. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
