God Has Promised

Whatever God has promised gets stamped with the Yes of Jesus. In him, this is what we preach and pray, the great Amen, God’s Yes and our Yes together, gloriously evident. God affirms us, making us a sure thing in Christ, putting his Yes within us. By his Spirit he has stamped us with his eternal pledge—a sure beginning of what he is destined to complete.
2 Corinthians 1:20 (MSG)

Dear Ones: God Has Promised! His Word is pure gold. It does not return void but accomplishes what it was sent to do and the purpose for which it was sent. In Christ, all of the promises in the Word are stamped with a “yes” or approval from the Father. The Holy Spirit has stamped our souls with His eternal pledge to never leave us nor forsake us.

Search for God’s Promises

When we search the New Testament writings, we discover these promises that Paul references in the epistles. Peter confirms that by His stripes we were healed. Paul tells us that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world. He also declares that in Christ we have been delivered from the power of darkness. In Philippians, Paul instructs us not to be anxious because God will supply all of our needs according to His riches in glory. These are just a few of the many promises of His goodness toward us.

There are even “promise” books that help us to find these promises in the Word. When the enemy comes with his tormenting voice to bring discouragement, use the Word (promises) to mute his voice. This is what the Lord did in the wilderness temptations. He rebuked the tempter with, “it is written.” Remember, in Christ all of the promises of the Father are stamped with His approval: His Yes!

Meditate on the power of these words, “God has promised.” His promises are back up with His love, His authority, and His almighty power. You are His precious child. He will not break His promise to you, but you have to believe. Yes, believe that He is faithful and able to do more than what you ask or imagine. He is the Good Father. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
