Give Thanks

Psalm 106:1 Praise the Lord! Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.

Luke 17:17 So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine?”

Psalm 106:1; Luke 17:17

Dear Ones: Give Thanks! As we enter into this Thanksgiving season, let us remember to be grateful for what He has done for us. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in receiving blessings that we forget to stop and recognize Who blessed us. Consider the ten lepers, only one came back with a heart of worship and thanksgiving to the Healer. The Lord specifically pointed out the ingratitude of the nine who received healing but did not return to thank Him. His response to their ungrateful hearts is a reminder that He looks for our thanks when He blesses us.

In thanksgiving we get an opportunity to express our loving gratitude to our King. The blessing need not be earth-shaking in the eyes of other people, but it is something special to our hearts. If we stopped to consider each day, then we would realize that we have been blessed in many ways. Therefore, thanksgiving should be a daily expression that we share with Him. Consider the psalms and the multiplied ways David and the other writers wrote about thanking the Lord.

May you Give Thanks, today, for the blessings of God that have abounded to you and yours. Even in wilderness times, His blessings are what sustain us and keep us going. Have a thankful day in the Lord. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
