His eyes of faith were set on the city with unshakable foundations, whose architect and builder is God himself.
Dear Ones: Eyes of Faith! Yes, Abraham had eyes of faith to believe that he would see what God promised him. He walked the land of promise and believed what the Lord told him, that it was his inheritance. This childless man had a barren wife, yet the Lord spoke of Abraham’s descendants being a multitude greater than the stars in the heavens. Abraham looked with the eyes of faith to see the promise fulfilled before it happened in the natural.
Is there something you have been believing for yet are still in expectation? Look to Abraham and receive what this verse reveals about him. He trusted the Word of God given to him about the city he was looking for. The influence of our instant culture causes us to get stressed when we have to wait for something. The irritation of waiting in a line for service is just a simple example of this type of stress. We want it and we want it now. But there is a lesson to be learned in the waiting on God that cannot compare to the line at Walmart.
Let patience and hope comfort you as you wait upon the Lord. May your eyes of faith be focused on His promises trusting in His faithfulness. Join Abraham the Father of Faith in believing that He is able to bless you beyond your wildest imaginations. Have a good day as you trust in Him. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
