As the deer pants for water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for God, the living God. Where can I find him to come and stand before him? … But, O my soul, don’t be discouraged. Don’t be upset. Expect God to act! For I know that I shall again have plenty of reason to praise him for all that he will do. He is my help! He is my God!
Dear Ones: Expect God to Act! Like the thirsty natural deer, we thirst for the living waters of our Lord to refresh us. In these tumultuous times, our spirits get parched because the spiritual warfare has intensified greatly. But the Lord comes to refresh us with His presence to drive away discouragement and fear. The dark one wants to keep us upset and focused on what he is doing. But when we expect God to act on our behalf, then the refreshing comes like rivers of living water.
Our expectations turn into fountains of hope confounding the enemy. As we radiate hope our expectations rise up taking to flight like the great eagle. The natural eagles fly above the storms. As spiritual eagles, Isaiah 40:31, AMP, confirms. “But those who wait for the Lord [who expect, look for, and hope in Him] Will gain new strength and renew their power; They will lift up their wings [and rise up close to God] like eagles [rising toward the sun]; They will run and not become weary, They will walk and not grow tired.”
Expect God to act in the circumstances that confront you today. Declare to yourself, “Don’t be upset, God has it all in His hands.” Let the words of this psalm encourage you and strengthen your hope and faith. He is more than able to take care of you, your family, and your nation. HE IS THAT BIG! I bless you in Jesus’ name.
