“Do not be worried and upset,” Jesus told them. “Believe in God and believe also in me.” … “Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid.”
Dear Ones: Do not be worried and upset! These are the words that the Lord Jesus spoke to His disciples on the night He was betrayed. The Lord knew He was headed to the Cross and wanted to leave His followers with these words of comfort and instruction. Although we may not know what lies ahead in these turbulent times, the Lord knows it all. His words of comfort apply to us today even as they did when He first said them to His disciples.
We have the Lord’s testimony of the work of the Holy Spirit in John 16:13, GNT, “When, however, the Spirit comes, who reveals the truth about God, he will lead you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own authority, but he will speak of what he hears and will tell you of things to come.” So, instead of being worried or upset, we should seek the leading of the Spirit who is commissioned to reveal to us things to come. If we seek discernment and insight into our current situations, then the Holy Spirit will enlighten our understanding of things we would not naturally know. His grace, enabling power, is to equip us to be overcomers in every aspect of our lives.
Resolve today not to be worried and upset, but to seek the guidance of the Holy Spirit in all your ways. Through prayer and praise access the peace of the Lord which He so graciously released to all who call Him Lord. It’s a good day to remember you are an overcomer in Him. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
