Divine Munitions The Blood of Christ

Dear ones, if the due and just punishment for sin is death, and the life is in the blood, then removing the blood (life) is evidence that someone or something has died—a death (the payment for sin) has occurred. Under the Old Covenant, the blood of lambs, bulls and goats could only push back the punishment for sin one year at a time. There were strict requirements placed on which animals could be used for the blood sacrifices. The Passover lamb had to be a male without blemish in its first year. Hebrews 10:3-4, NKJV tells us “But in those sacrifices there is a reminder of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.”  The Law of Moses was given as a tutor in order to teach the Israelites the importance of the blood sacrifice. Galatians 3:23-25, NKJV confirms, “But before faith came, we were kept under guard by the law, kept for the faith which would afterward be revealed. Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.”
The absence of a physical blemish or defect in the sacrificial animal was a foreshadowing of the need for sinless human blood to atone for the sin of the first Adam, passed down to all of his descendants (bloodline). The sinless blood of the Son of Man was the only atoning sacrifice (propitiation) that was acceptable by the judgment of the Lord God to fulfill His great plan of salvation. 1 Peter 1:18-19, NKJV reveals, “Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.”
