Confident Trust: Psalm 16

A Michtam of David. Preserve me, O God, for in You I put my trust.

Psalm 16:1 (NKJV)

Hope: to expect with confidenceTRUST

Dear Ones: David had a very interesting life. After Samuel anointed him to be king, he ended up running for his life from Saul the sitting king who had been rejected by the LORD God. The type of Hope David expresses in his psalms is confident trust in the goodness of GOD. Many times David escaped those who hunted him because he listened to GOD when he warned him to leave a place or to follow a strategy in battle. When David sought the LORD with his whole heart, he did not fail. But when he let his flesh guide his decisions, he sinned a great sin. But even in this episode we see the redemptive power of the Love of God. It is a good day to remember these things and exercise confident trust in the LORD.

May your confident trust in the Lord carry you through the difficult times. May His guiding hand lead you around the pitfalls that the enemy has set in your path. May you rejoice in the goodness of our loving Father. Have an overcoming day. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
