I will call upon the Lord, Who is worthy to be praised; He will save me from all my enemies.
Dear Ones: Call Upon the Lord! This is a phrase from one of David’s songs testifying of the delivering hand of God. David lived on the pre-redemptive side of the Cross. Although the Spirit of the Lord rested upon him, he was not inhabited by the Spirit. Therefore, David was calling out for God to come upon him. Believers live on the redemptive side of the Cross and have the presence of the Holy Spirit residing in them.
Now consider, if the Lord responded to David’s cry, then He will not ignore our prayers and declarations of His saving power to lead us out of this valley of chaos and lies. David gives us the key to getting out of our dire situations: Praise the Lord as we continue to walk out of the valley.
Call Upon the Name
However, too many Christians have thrown in the towel and built their homes in the valley. They have allowed depression, doubt, and unbelief to color their thoughts about God’s ability to crush their enemies. But Philippians 2:10-11, NKJV, tells us a different story. “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” In Luke 10:19, the Master specially gives every born-again child of God the right to exercise His authority over all the power of the enemy and they will not be harmed. He is surely worthy to be praised.
Declaration: “I call upon the Lord Who lives in me, to teach me how to exercise His victory over the minions of darkness who are attacking me, my family, and my nation. He is worthy to be praised and thanked for His great power at work in all of these areas. Like David, I am confident in His power and ability to walk me out of this valley of chaos into the safety of the place called ‘blessings.’ Praise the Lord!” Have an overcoming day as you rehearse David’s words today. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
