Dear Ones: Call Upon Him! The theme of this chapter is: An Invitation to an Abundant Life. Isaiah transcribed the words of the Lord as He called Israel back to Himself. He made great promises to them if they did return. The Lord promised them joy, peace, and even the land would rejoice. The trees would join in by clapping their hands. As Christians we have a better covenant than Israel had in Isaiah’s day. Therefore, we can be confident that when we call upon Him the least, we can expect is listed here in the 55th chapter of the book of Isaiah. In these challenging times, joy and peace are greatly desired to bring relief from the stress and chaos. Even the parched ground in our area waits to rejoice when the rains come.
The wisdom to be gleaned from these verses is to seek the Lord and call upon Him every day, especially in times of trouble. Then be confident that He hears your call, because He watches over you day and night. Listen for His answer then be quick to obey what He says to do. Finally, enjoy His peace, thank Him, and praise Him for the answer. It is a good day to be a child of the King. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
