4 But when [in God’s plan] the proper time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the [regulations of the] Law, 5 so that He might redeem and liberate those who were under the Law, that we [who believe] might be adopted as sons [as God’s children with all rights as fully grown members of a family].
Dear Ones: Born of a Woman! The Lord Jesus is true God and true man. He entered this world through Mary’s womb, but His blood was from His Father, God. In the natural a baby’s blood type is determined by the father’s DNA. It had to be so because the Lord’s blood could not be tainted with Adam’s blood. Hence, those born-again into HIM, are no longer subject to the curse of the fall through Adam.
His miraculous birth is important because He became Immanuel, God with us. Colossians 2:9 reveals it this way, “For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.” Through the immaculate conception the Lord’s blood was the only untainted blood that could be offered as a substitute for the remission of sin. Consider these things as you celebrate the Lord’s birth and the reason He came and the way He came.
May the words, “born of a woman,” remind you that the Lord chose to come as a babe and live among mankind in order to redeem Adam’s race. Rejoice, for Immanuel came as the great forerunner to redeem the Father’s family. All things are possible for there is nothing too hard for God. Have a joy filled week. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
