Better Promises

But now Jesus, our High Priest, has been given a ministry that is far superior to the old priesthood, for he is the one who mediates for us a far better covenant with God, based on better promises.
Hebrews 8:6 (NLT)

Dear Ones: Better Promises! The Bible is divided into the Old and New Testaments (Covenants). The list of the blessings under the old covenant is found in Deuteronomy 28:1-14. Obedience to the Law of Moses offers these blessings. However, the rest of this long chapter enumerates the consequences for their disobedience. The New Covenant in the Blood of Christ is far superior to the old one.

Christians are grafted into the Body of Christ with God as our Father. Through the work of the Cross, we are reconciled back to God as Paul explained in 2 Corinthians 5:17-19. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.”

The Lord issued His Great Commission to His followers to make disciples of all men. We have the great privilege under our covenant in His Blood to share the better promises with those in our spheres of influence. The best part of this is when we share the Gospel, we also receive overflowing blessings because of our obedience. The Lord is always looking for a reason to shower blessings upon those who are in Christ.

Rejoice today! You are under the New Covenant that provides better promises because of the Blood of Christ. As His agents, you have the right to exercise His authority over the power of the enemy. Holy Spirit guides your steps every day as you walk out the Father’s plan for your life. Believe that what the Lord has blessed is surely blessed. Walk in His better promises today. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
