Be Wise

Be wise when you engage with those outside the faith community; make the most of every moment and every encounter. When you speak the word, speak it gracefully (as if seasoned with salt), so you will know how to respond to everyone rightly.
Colossians 4:5-6 (VOICE)

Dear Ones: Be Wise! These are good words to live by. The argumentative spirit that is afoot in the land today brings more importance to such words of life. Proverbs 15:1 tells us that, “A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” Many people are angry because they feel their lives are out of control. Hence, they look for someone or something to focus their anger on. It is wise not to take the bait to respond to them with angry words, too.

Is this an easy thing to do? NO! But it is a wise thing to do. Train yourself to listen for the leading of the Holy Spirt when these types of situations confront you. Don’t let anger rule the atmosphere. Take control of your emotions. You can do this because self-control is one of the fruits of the Divine Nature that is working in you. Let the Spirit of Life season your well-chosen words with the salt of His presence. This is how you can follow the instructions to be wise.

James 1:5, AMP, tells us, “If any of you lacks wisdom [to guide him through a decision or circumstance], he is to ask of [our benevolent] God, who gives to everyone generously and without rebuke or blame, and it will be given to him.” So, you can be wise with godly wisdom in every circumstance. Ask for it and receive from Him the benefits of being wise. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
