Then all this assembly shall know that the Lord does not save with sword and spear; for the battle is the Lord’s, and He will give you into our hands.
Dear Ones: The Battle is the Lord’s! This is David telling Goliath that the Lord was with him in the battle. Some of us are facing Goliaths in our lives because of sickness or other attacks of darkness. But like David, we do not engage the Goliaths in our lives alone. Holy Spirit, the powerhouse of Heaven, dwells in every Christian. He came to us when we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior. When we sought the baptism in the Holy Spirit and received, that enabled us to access His power.
David had history with God’s grace: His enabling power to know and to do His will. When King Saul questioned David, he recounted how he killed the lion and the bear. David testified of God’s delivering power and knew that He would do it again. Our testimony of God’s goodness in our lives is very important. Revelation 12:11 reveals just how important it is, “And they overcame him [the accuser] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.”
When we acknowledge the Lord’s ability to save us from all our troubles, it becomes easy to turn the battle over to Him. Too many times we go into battle depending on our natural talents. But when we turn the battle over to Him, we become more than conquerors through Him. Read about Jehoshaphat’s victory in 2 Chronicles 20 and be encouraged.
May your faith be strong as you decree, “the battle is the Lord’s.” Keep your ears tuned to the Holy Spirit. In every crisis He is there and will never leave you. He fights for you. You are an overcomer and conqueror. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
