An Attitude of Thanksgiving

Be persistent and devoted to prayer, being alert and focused in your prayer life with an attitude of thanksgiving.
Colossians 4:2 (AMP)

Dear Ones: An Attitude of Thanksgiving! Our prayers should be seasoned with thanksgiving even as we focus on our requests. A grateful heart draws the mercies of the Lord because it reveals our faith in His ability to help us. In this verse, Paul urges the reader to be persistent and devoted to prayer. But what is prayer? Is it formal words of petition that we have uttered without even being mindful of what we say? No! It is communication with our Lord.

The Lord desires a personal and intimate relationship with everyone who calls Him their Savior. He knows everything about you and your life, but He invites you to sit with Him and share your heart with Him. Don’t get hung up on listing the enemy’s activities launched against you. Use David’s example and declare that you believe in His power to intervene in all that concerns you and your family. Thank Him with confident assurance that He is working everything out for your benefit. Remember, through the Cross He has delivered you from the power of darkness. He has given you authority over all the power of the enemy.

Pray with an attitude of thanksgiving using His name. Let joy bubble up in your spirit as you sit with Him during your prayer time. Because He enjoys your company and loves to shower good things upon His children. It is a good day to be grateful for all that He has done and is doing for you, your family, and your nation. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
