Earlier there were a lot of priests, for they died and had to be replaced. But Jesus’ priesthood is permanent. He’s there from now to eternity to save everyone who comes to God through him, always on the job to speak up for them.
Dear Ones: Always on the Job! No matter whether it is day or night, weekday or weekend, the Lord is always on the job. In the night hours when sleep leaves us, the Lord is watching and listening to our prayers and declarations. He wants you to exercise your faith and hope in Him. Invite Him to come into your circumstances believing that He is able to turn things around and give you the upper hand.
A priest’s job is to intercede for the people. Our Lord is the Great High Priest and continually intercedes and helps those who call Him Lord. He died to save mankind and to empower those who believe in Him to enforce His victory. But we are not left to fend for ourselves. Holy Spirit was sent to teach and guide us how to live the overcoming life. Our Lord intercedes for us in the Courts of Heaven as our Great Advocate. The dark one is called the accuser because he accuses us before God. When he brings up our past, our Advocate shows His Blood and reminds the devil of his future.
Take comfort in the words, “He is always on the job.” Meditate on these verses, especially in the night hours when the tormentor tries to steal your sleep. You have the upper hand, and the Lord is always on the job. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
Note: Several years ago, the Lord gave me a poem, “A Watch in the Night.” Here is the link.
