For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Dear Ones: A Sound Mind! That’s what we need today—our minds able to distinguish between the things of God (light) and the things of darkness. If we truly consider what happened in 2020 with the “virus,” it becomes obvious that a spirit of fear was spread across the world. The spirit of fear rode on the backs of this “virus” and changed the world forever.
But, Christians, do not have a fear-filled spirit. We are indwelt by the Holy Spirit: The Spirit of power, love and a sound mind. When we choose to follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit, the spirit of fear has no place to settle in our minds. This is why it is essential to keep sowing the seeds of the Word of God into our souls: mind, will, and emotions.
What do you do if the tormentor’s voice of fear sends thoughts of disaster, death, depression, and doubt. Use this verse to mute its voice. You can respond, “Oh, I know that is a lie, because fear is trying to get me to agree with it. I will not lose everything and will not succumb to a disease. But I have a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind! The Lord gave me the power to resist evil, so begone in Jesus’ name.”
Use the Sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, to protect your mind against the thought bombs of the enemy. You are an overcomer and equipped with many powerful spiritual weapons. Consider these things this weekend. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
