Listen carefully, I am about to do a new thing, Now it will spring forth; Will you not be aware of it? I will even put a road in the wilderness, Rivers in the desert.
Dear Ones: A New Thing! Isaiah was given prophetic words that were fulfilled many hundreds of years later. We can understand more about these prophetic words because we are on the redemptive side of the Cross. However, Isaiah faithfully recorded what he heard and prayed into them. The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 13:17, TLB, “Many a prophet and godly man has longed to see what you have seen and hear what you have heard, but couldn’t.”
A new thing is what we become when we receive Christ as Lord. In 2 Corinthians 5:17 Paul clearly states, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” We are no longer trapped in the wilderness with the dark one lording over us. As new creations we partake of His divine nature and have been delivered from the power of darkness. Rivers of living waters are to flow from us to affect the atmosphere and those around us.
What seems like a no-way-out situation cannot stop the favor of the Lord upon our lives. He is the One Who turns dry deserts into river deltas. The wilderness becomes passable as all obstacles are brought low by Him. This is a demonstration of His goodness and mercy in action. We are beneficiaries of the New Covenant certified in the Blood of Christ. Mark 9:23, tells us, “Jesus said to him, ‘If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.’”
May you rejoice in the new thing that the Lord is doing in your life, your family, and your nation. As a new creation in Christ, you have access to the supernatural bounty of the Kingdom. Rejoice as you see the desert before you turned into a well-watered fertile plain. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
