But you are a chosen people, set aside to be a royal order of priests, a holy nation, God’s own; so that you may proclaim the wondrous acts of the One who called you out of inky darkness into shimmering light.
Dear Ones: A Holy Nation! Yes, a nation created by Father God to represent Him because they are grafted into His Kingdom through faith in the Son. This spiritual nation has no border, per se. But its members are planted abroad in every natural world nation and kingdom. In other words, this holy nation is the Body of Christ, His true Church.
Paul affirms Peter’s words in Ephesians 5:8, AMP, “For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light [live as those who are native-born to the Light].” As we look into these verses, we see the awesome reality of believers being born again. At the new birth, believers are born into the Kingdom of the Son: The Kingdom of Light. We are filled with light and are called to walk as children of the Light.
When someone accepts the Lord Jesus as their Savior and Lord, it is not just some simple prayer, but it is a life-altering choice. They become children of the Light and citizens of a Holy Nation. As they progress in their relationship with the Lord, they are able to give their testimonies about His wondrous acts. WOW!
Declare: “I am a citizen of a Holy Nation filled with His life and light. His call draws me up higher every day. No longer will I respond to the darkness or allow it to control my thoughts and actions. His light now guides my steps and keeps me out of the snares of the enemy. I will walk circumspectly so that I might not sin against Him. Praise the Lord.” Have a blessed and safe holiday weekend as you walk as a child of the Light in Jesus’ name.
