Crying for Help

Is anyone crying for help? God is listening, ready to rescue you.
Psalm 34:17 (MSG)

Dear Ones: Crying for Help! David cried out to the Lord to save him from Abimelech who was an enemy of Israel. David fled from Saul and ended up in an enemy city. But David knew who could save him and he cried out to the Lord to give him a strategy against certain death. David feigned madness and Abimelech drove him out of the city.

Why bring up this story? Sometimes we seem to jump out of the frying pan and end up in the fire. When troubles come, they like to do tag-team attacks. But even in those times we have One to call on for our rescue. God listens to our words: our prayers, our everyday speech, and our testimonies. It is very important to speak out our testimonies about what God has done and is doing in our lives. However, when we continually repeat what the enemy is doing then our words can be used by the dark one against us. David is a good example. He did not concentrate on his enemy’s actions but on the truth that God listens and is ready to help.

Are you crying for help right now? Then know that God is listening. He knows how to rescue you from any and all attacks of darkness. If you stay alert and pray diligently, then, like David, you know help is on the way. Yes, He comes to you even when you land in the fire. Think on these things this weekend. He is more than able to take care of what concerns you today. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
