Be prepared. You’re up against far more than you can handle on your own. Take all the help you can get, every weapon God has issued, so that when it’s all over but the shouting you’ll still be on your feet. Truth, righteousness, peace, faith, and salvation are more than words. Learn how to apply them. You’ll need them throughout your life. God’s Word is an indispensable weapon. In the same way, prayer is essential in this ongoing warfare. Pray hard and long. Pray for your brothers and sisters. Keep your eyes open. Keep each other’s spirits up so that no one falls behind or drops out.
Dear Ones: Be Prepared! Those who live along the Gulf coast understand the words, “be prepared.” When the storm alerts are issued, and the people get ready and prepare for the wind, the rain, and the floods. How much more should we be prepared in our spiritual walk when we see the signs of the encroachment of the darkness. We are not left weaponless in this war of the Light against the darkness. We are called to watch and pray.
Prayer is more than petitioning but it is also the enforcement of the Lord’s victory over all the power of the enemy. Light will always drive out darkness. But persistence is needed for the enemies of doubt, fear, and unbelief specifically attack our faith and perseverance. When we focus in prayer on the One Who is our answer, then our spirits soar into the heavenly heights. We realize we are sitting with Him on His throne speaking out His words of power against the forces of darkness. Then we are praying from a position of victory, yes, even before the battle is engaged. He is personification of Victory, and He dwells in us.
May the words, “be prepared,” cause you to grab hold of all your spiritual weapons and be at the ready. Like the Minute Men of 1775 be vigilant and watchful in prayer. When you call on His name in faith you know help is already on the way. Have an overcoming and prayer-filled day in the Lord. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
