Words of Eternal Life

67 So Jesus said to the twelve, “You do not want to leave also, do you?” 68 Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have words of eternal life. 69 And we have already believed and have come to know that You are the Holy One of God.”
John 6 (NASB)

Dear Ones: Words of Eternal Life! When you read the words in red (red letter edition), they are so marked as the words spoken by our Lord. In these verses Peter correctly states that the Lord’s words are those that give eternal life. The Word of God is alive and powerful. His word brings clarity and discernment of the thoughts and intents of our own hearts. It also imparts His wisdom and understanding so that we can live a life pleasing to our Father.

As you plant the seeds of His words of eternal life, they are like the natural seed that produces after its own kind. A tomato seed when planted yields a tomato plant. The seed of His word yields eternal life to the ones who believe it and act upon it. Is it that simple? In some ways it is and in other ways it is not. Our freewill has much to do with the crop the seed of His word will produce. In the parable of the Sower and the Seed, the seed planted on good soil yielded some 30, 60, or 100 fold return. The yield was determined by the soil, which represents our part in this process.

May His words of eternal life fill you to overflowing today. Plant them into your heart and believe they are powerful. Expect to receive a hundred-fold return for your activated faithful trust in His word. Have an overcoming day in the Lord. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
