38 But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” 39 Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm. 40 But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”
Dear Ones: When the storms of life come, fear wants to grip our hearts. In these verses we see how fear gripped the disciples even though the LORD was in the boat with them. HE calmed the seas by releasing HIS peace. Then HE asked them, “Why fear, use your faith!”
In these times of great uncertainty, fear is having a field day trying to blind us to the fact that the LORD is with us in the situations. Call on HIM in faith and release HIS peace into the very atmosphere around you: at home, on the job, and in your nation. As HIS peace fills your soul, the calm it brings will spill out on those around you. In fact, a peace bubble will encompass you wherever you go. Faith draws HIS peace and calms the storms. Think on these things and have an overcoming day in the LORD. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
