“And now we will make human beings; they will be like us and resemble us. They will have power over the fish, the birds, and all animals, domestic and wild, large and small.” So God created human beings, making them to be like himself. He created them male and female, … God formed Man out of dirt from the ground and blew into his nostrils the breath of life. The Man came alive—a living soul!
Dear Ones: The Breath of Life! When it came to the creation of man, there was an important difference from the other created earth creatures. Man was unique among all Creation, because God determined to form them in His own image and likeness. The hands of God formed Adam’s body (his earth suit) from the dirt of the ground.
The breath of life that God breathed into Adam’s formed body is the first resurrection recorded. His body was not alive as it lay waiting for God to act. There was no pulse, no life, and no breath. There was potential but the flesh body could not animate itself, only God could do that. When God blew into his nostrils the breath of life, then he became a living soul. Adam’s spirit, soul, and body was supercharged with the life of God, Himself.
Consider these things today. Every breath you breathe is necessary to continue your life. This life that you have comes from the Father of Life. And because of the Cross of Christ, we have it abundantly as the Master explained in John 10:10, NKJV. “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.”
Declare: “Father, thank you for the breath of life that works in my body even now. Help me to understand the significance this truly means. With every inhalation and exhalation, my life continues at your approval. You are the Giver of abundant life, and I thank You for it with my whole being. Praise Your Holy Name.” Breathe in His goodness today in Jesus’ name.
