Now on Rumble: Spiritual Fruits
In this lesson we begin to explore Spiritual Fruits. The topics we discuss are: Godly Wisdom, Fruit of the Spirit, and Developing Fruit. The list of the fruits of the Spirit we find in Galatians 5:22-23 are essentially the character traits of the divine nature. The spiritual fruit we bear are the expression of His character working in and out through us. Here is an excerpt from the video transcript to encourage you to watch the video.
James 3:17-18, NKJV
Wisdom is the ability to discern or judge what is true, right, or lasting. However, the crux of the definition lies in the standard used for judging. When the standard for judging is the Word of God, then the result is godly wisdom. When the standard for judging is the modern norms set by the culture of the current world system, then the result is human wisdom. The Apostle Paul explains the difference in his first letter to the Corinthian church. (1 Corinthians 2:13-14, NLT) “When we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths. But people who aren’t spiritual can’t receive these truths from God’s Spirit. It all sounds foolish to them and they can’t understand it, for only those who are spiritual can understand what the Spirit means.”
Godly wisdom is full of spiritual fruits; it is pure, peaceful, gentle and full of mercy. It is also the product of a godly lifestyle. The benefits for the believer of obeying the Holy Spirit in everything he does in life are far greater than allowing the judgments of mere men to dictate his opinions and behavior. When the believer chooses to follow godly wisdom, the world may judge his actions to be foolishness, but in truth it is just the opposite. The fool is the one who says no to God and His ways.
