The Lord said to his people, “Stand at the crossroads and look. Ask for the ancient paths and where the best road is. Walk in it, and you will live in peace.” But they said, “No, we will not!”
Dear Ones: Stand at the Crossroads! The Lord God through Jeremiah called out to a backslidden and hard-hearted people. He counseled them to return to the ancient paths of obedience to His commandments and live a good life filled with peace. But they chose unwisely ridiculing the prophet calling him a false voice and tried to kill him to shut his mouth.
So, what does this mean for us today? The troublous times we are experiencing bear a strange resemblance to that of Jeremiah’s day. Our nation stands at a crossroads and King Jesus is calling us to return to the ancient paths of the Founders. Charlie Kirk was a voice crying out like Jeremiah to the citizens of this nation. Many have attacked and still are attacking his message calling him a false voice and other untrue things. But the message lives on because the Author of the message is King Jesus. He is commissioning many young people to carry on the work that Charlie started.
The Crossroads are a place of Decision
As the violence of those who hate the Lord’s Republic increases, we hear His voice command, “Stand at the Crossroads and look with your natural and spiritual eyes.” This upheaval in the natural world is the result of a spiritual war over the soul of His Republic. We are encouraged to return to the old paths the Founders forged on the foundation of our God-given inalienable rights: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
The underlying principle of this verse reveals the need to choose which path you will follow. The everchanging cultural norms want you to wander down the pathway to a place called “destruction.” But the Lord beckons you to follow the road less travelled that He has marked out for you, your family, and His Republic. So, stand at the crossroads and choose wisely so that you may walk in it and live in His peace. Have a blessed day in Jesus’ name.
