Word of God a Weapon

Now on Rumble: The Word of God A Weapon

Paul is continuing to move our videos off of YouTube and onto Rumble. This is a precautionary measure because YouTube has been known to be unfriendly to the Christian posters on their site.

In this lesson we continue to delve into the mystery of the Word of God—A Weapon. The Lord Jesus used the Word of God as a weapon against the temptations in the wilderness. The enemy’s thought bombs are aimed at our faith in the truth of the Word of God. They come to plant seeds of doubt, unbelief, and fear. “Did God really say?” was the same deception he used in the Garden of Eden. But the Lord Jesus gave us the antidote to nullify these attacks. Here is an excerpt from the video transcript to encourage you to watch the video.

Matthew 4:3-4, NKJV
“In these verses we have the example of how the Lord Jesus defeated the enemy’s attacks. He was sent by the Spirit into the wilderness to face the temptations of the dark one. As the Son of Man, the LORD had to face the temptations that we all face in life: the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life. Hebrews 4:15, AMP tells us why, “For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize and understand our weaknesses and temptations, but One who has been tempted [knowing exactly how it feels to be human] in every respect as we are, yet without [committing any] sin.” The first Adam did not pass the temptation test, but the last Adam not only passed the test but showed us a way to defeat the tempter.
“The LORD used the weapon of the Truth of the Word of God against the lies of the tempter’s words. Immediately before the Spirit led Him into the wilderness, the Father spoke over Jesus at His baptism. Matthew 3:16-17 tells us, “16 When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. 17 And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, ‘This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.’” (NKJV) The Father declared Jesus’ Sonship as a witness of His identity to all who had ears to hear the Father’s voice. Yet, in the first two temptations, the voice of the tempter tried to insert thoughts of doubt and unbelief into the Lord’s mind against the Father’s declaration of His true Sonship.”
