Righteousness will yield Peace

Then righteousness will yield peace, and the quiet and confidence that attend righteousness will be present forever.
Isaiah 32:17 (VOICE)

Dear Ones: Righteousness will yield Peace! Pastor Hank, my pastor in New Orleans, defined righteousness this way: to do right and to be right with God. Holy Spirit, our Teacher, comes to instruct us how to live righteous lives. Romans 14:17, GNT, confirms to us. “For God’s Kingdom is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of the righteousness, peace, and joy which the Holy Spirit gives.”

As we read the above verse, we learn that righteousness produces a good crop of peace in our inner beings. And peace is joined with quietness of soul and unshakeable confidence in His goodness. In Romans, Paul adds joy to the mix as we experience it through faith in Jesus Christ. Therefore, we can conclude that it greatly benefits us to pursue living a righteous life. But this righteousness we seek is based on the standard of God’s word, not the current culture of this generation.

Godly Righteousness

When we pursue godly righteousness, then we will certainly stir up opposition from the ungodly world. The evil one hates godly righteousness because its offspring is soul peace. But the Master comforts us with His words in John 14:27, NLT. “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”

Declare: “Lord, I believe that godly righteousness will yield peace. I desire to experience the deep peace of soul that you gifted to us on the night You were betrayed. Help me to do right and to be right with You every day of my life. I know that I am a Kingdom kid, so, righteousness, peace, and joy are my inheritance in You. Thank You for the gift of Peace.” Have a peaceful day in Jesus’ name.
