The Controlling Factor

Let the peace of Christ [the inner calm of one who walks daily with Him] be the controlling factor in your hearts [deciding and settling questions that arise]. To this peace indeed you were called as members in one body [of believers]. And be thankful [to God always].
Colossians 3:15 (AMP)

Dear Ones: The Controlling Factor! It is extremely interesting how the Word of God drills down to the very root of things. Paul tells us in this verse that the peace of Christ should be the controlling factor that guides us when facing the challenges of life. The Amplified Bible elaborates on His peace as the inner calm of soul we experience as we walk with Him, daily.

Paul continues to explain that His peace is for every believer: the whole Body of Christ. This inner calm of the soul is available to all who receive Christ as their Lord and Savior. It is wonderful news especially in these pressure-filled times. In His Sermon on the Mount, the Master calls us to rest in His peace and not to let anxiety overwhelm our minds in Matthew 6:34, MSG. “Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.” In a real sense, He is saying let My peace be the controlling factor over your life.

Declare: “According to the Master’s words, I make His peace the controlling factor in all that I do: my thoughts, my actions, my decisions, and all that pertains to my life. With a grateful heart, I thank the Lord for giving me His peace. His peace guards my heart and my mind as I walk every day of my life with Him. It is a good day to praise the Lord.” Have a peaceful week in Jesus’ name.
