How Can Men be Wise

How can men be wise? The only way to begin is by reverence for God. For growth in wisdom comes from obeying his laws. Praise his name forever.
Psalm 111:10 (TLB)

Dear Ones: How Can Men be Wise? The Word of God is filled with golden nuggets of information that instruct us on many topics. The psalmist asked the question: “how can men be wise.” In 1828 Mr. Webster defined wise this way. “Properly, having knowledge; hence, having the power of discerning and judging correctly, or of discriminating between what is true and what is false; between what is fit and proper, and what is improper.” We can conclude that wisdom is a virtue that is important and helpful in our daily lives.

However, wisdom is not book-learning. Books impart information but wisdom is the power to discern and judge things correctly. Book-learning can help you with keeping the records of a business. But wisdom will establish the company on a solid foundation if your partner is the Lord. Wisdom is desperately needed in these challenging times. For discriminating between what is true and false is a virtue that will keep us on the right path and out of the ditches.

Men Can be Wise

The answer to the psalmist’s question is to start with reverencing the Lord and obeying His laws. Our reverence and obedience are to come from a loving and intimate relationship with the Father through the work of the Son and the Spirit. First Corinthians 1:24b, AMP, confirms to us that, “Christ is the power of God and the wisdom of God.”

Declare: “Father, thank you for answering the question: How can men be wise? With my whole heart, I choose to follow the Master’s teachings and stay on the path of righteousness. Help me to discern the truth from the false words of the minions of darkness. Let my words of worship and thanksgiving bring You pleasure as I seek Your wisdom and power every day. Praise the Lord!” Have a blessed weekend in Jesus’ name.
