You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; My cup overflows.
Dear Ones: My Cup Overflows! This psalm written by David is well-known even to the secular world. Often, it is quoted at funerals. But it is a psalm for the living. David gives his testimony of how the Lord God provided for him even when he was surrounded by enemies. The grace and mercies of God overflowed him in the good times and in the bad.
As we begin this new year with work, school, and other activities, it is an excellent time to remind ourselves of the goodness of the Lord. He is our provider even when natural things turn sour. His protection is far greater than any attack of the evil one. He loves us with an unfailing love and desires to fill our vessels. When He releases His grace, it is not by single drops, but an overflowing flood of His goodness, love, and mercy.
Declare today: “My cup overflows with His goodness, love, and mercy. I will not fear those who are against me. In Christ, I am an overcomer because He will never forsake me in my need. Thank You, Lord, for your grace to know and to do Your will. Praise the Lord!” Have a blessed and bountiful day in Jesus’ name.
