I lie awake each night thinking of you and reflecting on how you help me like a father. I sing through the night under your splendor-shadow, offering up to you my songs of delight and joy!
Dear Ones: Joy to the World is one of my favorite Christmas carols. I offer this verse today in the spirit of this carol. Billye Brim spoke about what a dear intercessor received from the LORD. She heard HIM say, “Whenever I laid my head to rest, I continually meditated on the Scriptures that prophesied Who I AM.” This verse is from a psalm of David when he was living in the wilderness of Judah fleeing from King Saul. David meditated and reflected on the goodness of the LORD God, even when he was running for his life. Here we have two wonderful examples of how to fall asleep cradled in the everlasting arms of our Father no matter what is going on in our lives.
May you rest peacefully under the shadow of HIS wings as you recount HIS goodness to you and yours. May songs of joy fill you in this season for truly Joy to the World is our inheritance in HIM. Have an overcoming day. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
