In this video we discuss the Lord’s command to us to “Be Perfect” in Matthew 5:48. What does this really mean. On the surface it seems that the Lord commanded us to do an impossible thing. Was He setting us up to fail? NO! He is the personification of Goodness, so it must be something deeper than mere surface understanding we need to know. Here is an excerpt from the video transcript to give you an idea of the lesson content.

Let’s look at this verse in the Message Translation of the Bible that uses terms we are more familiar with in our everyday conversations. Matthew 5:48, MSG. “In a word, what I’m saying is, Grow up. You’re kingdom subjects. Now live like it. Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously toward others, the way God lives toward you.” As Kingdom Citizens, believers are not to live according to the dictates of this fallen world system. We are called to go from one glory to another: one act of obedience to another. As we follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit to do this, we literally walk out of darkness into the marvelous Light of His Kingdom.

I hope you will use the scriptural references below the video as a jumping off point for your personal study. The Spirit will guide you and lead you to the verses that will inspire you.
