“Because he clings to Me in love, I will rescue him from harm; I will set him above danger. Because he has known Me by name, He will call on Me, and I will answer. I’ll be with him through hard times; I’ll rescue him and grant him honor. I’ll reward him with many good years on this earth and let him witness My salvation.”
Dear Ones: Many Good Years! Psalm 91 is often quoted, especially in times of great need and danger. These promises are still alive because they were spoken to David by the True and Living God, our Father. The Father qualifies these promises with the condition to cling to Him in love. We are to love Him for His goodness and gracious heart that He extends to all who cling to Him in love. Through the Cross of Christ, we have a witness of the depth of His burning love for all of mankind.
We all desire to live many good years on this earth. Like David, we too want to see and experience the goodness of the Lord while we live on this earth. In addition, we want to leave a great spiritual and financial inheritance to our children and their children.
The Father’s promises are yes and amen to all Christians who honor Him and call upon Him in the bad times and in the good times. Not only will He rescue us from the snare of the enemy, but He desires to honor us. David revealed how this works in Psalm 23:5, VOICE. “You spread out a table before me, provisions in the midst of attack from my enemies; You care for all my needs, anointing my head with soothing, fragrant oil, filling my cup again and again with Your grace.”
Believe that He is able to give you many good years so you can experience His goodness. Thank Him for all the promises you read in these verses today. They belong to you if you will cling to Him in Love. Thank Him for the Cross and Resurrection of our King who is the living witness of your Father’s love. Have a blessed day in Jesus’ name.
