Take God Seriously

But he’s already made it plain how to live, what to do, what God is looking for in men and women. It’s quite simple: Do what is fair and just to your neighbor, be compassionate and loyal in your love, And don’t take yourself too seriously— take God seriously.
Micah 6:8 (MSG)

Dear Ones: Take God Seriously! The Word of God was given to help us to know Him, His salvation plan, and His Son. The Bible was not written over centuries with many authors because the Lord God was chatty and wanted to be published. His Words are life. This is what the Lord God said about His Word in Isaiah 55:11, AMP. “So will My word be which goes out of My mouth; It will not return to Me void (useless, without result), Without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it.”

In the New Testament, the Words of Christ are to be taken seriously, too. Many people like to read the portions about the miracles and signs and wonders. But the teachings of Christ are important for every born-again believer. Dig into the teachings of the Sermon on the Mount and follow their instructions. Ask the Holy Spirit to release deeper revelation of these words. You will prosper greatly because you will be acting on the Word of Life.

As you begin this new year, determine to take God seriously by reading and honoring His Word. Read the words spoken by Christ as if He is talking directly to you. (Some bibles colorize His words in red.) Take God’s word seriously and begin to align yourself with His word and His ways. Then this will be a great year. Your peace and prosperity will flourish even in very dark times. Have an overcoming day. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
