I pray that the God of peace will give you every good thing you need so you can do what he wants. God raised from the dead our Lord Jesus, the Great Shepherd of the sheep, because of the blood of his death. His blood began the eternal agreement that God made with his people. I pray that God will do in us what pleases him, through Jesus Christ, and to him be glory forever and ever. Amen.
Dear Ones: The Eternal Agreement! Is another way of saying the Blood Covenant of the New Testament. The writer is closing out his letter to the Hebrew Christians with these words. He is assuring the readers that their Father God will give them every good thing they need to do His will. When we read these words today, the same promise is given to us. The eternal agreement is just that—forever, ratified by Jesus’ Blood.
As we begin a new year, let us keep these words of promise in mind. Our Father God is a God of peace. This peace to be effective must work in us: our inner man. Peace is one of the character traits of the Divine Nature as revealed in Galatians 5:22-23. Our peace depends on our relationship with our covenant keeping God. No matter the state of the economy, our government, or other outward conditions we have no control over, our inner peace will carry us through. Remember, the Great Shepherd knows how to protect and care for His obedient sheep.
Let the eternal agreement you have with Father God bring you peace in these challenging times. When you do what is pleasing in His sight, the fullness of the power and authority of this covenant will come against all that contends with you. Determine with your freewill to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and enjoy His peace every day of this year. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
