15 Early the next morning Elisha’s servant got up, went out of the house, and saw the Syrian troops with their horses and chariots surrounding the town. He went back to Elisha and exclaimed, “We are doomed, sir! What shall we do?” 16 “Don’t be afraid,” Elisha answered. “We have more on our side than they have on theirs.”
Dear Ones: Don’t Be Afraid! This is the encouraging word for today. No matter what your circumstances are, don’t be afraid. There is more fighting for you and with you than what is coming against you. You may not be facing a huge army of mounted horsemen, but the conflict is just as real. It may be a medical issue, a financial issue, or a family issue that seems to be overwhelming. But look to the Lord and realize that He is able to handle all that concerns you today.
Elisha’s servant was only operating by his natural senses when fear gripped his heart. But Elisha revealed that real spiritual warriors were guarding around them, and the natural army was no match for them. This was not just a once upon a time moment. The truth is that the forces of the Lord’s army are commissioned to help us as stated in Hebrews 1:14, AMPC. “Are not all the angels ministering spirits sent out [by God] to serve (accompany, protect) those who will inherit salvation? [Of course they are!].” We are not to worship angels, but we are to accept and expect their help. Their commission to help us comes from the Throne of God.
Be encouraged today, don’t be afraid. There is more with you in this conflict than those that are against you. Christians have many spiritual weapons and provisions that we have not yet learned to access. Put on the Lord’s armor of Light and blend in with the angelic army that has been sent to minister to you. It is a good day to be thankful for the abundant blessings you receive through Christ. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
