Surely His salvation is near to those who [reverently] fear Him [and obey Him with submissive wonder], That glory [the manifest presence of God] may dwell in our land. … Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty [emancipation from bondage, true freedom].
Dear Ones: There is Liberty! As we celebrate the Independence of these United States of America let us remember where our liberty comes from. This nation was dedicated to King Jesus on the same day that our current US Constitution was ratified and put into force. Where the Spirit of the Lord, King Jesus, is there is liberty.
Freedom is not free. The Lord Jesus paid the price for our freedom from sin, sickness, and death. Also, much blood has been shed in this land and abroad to protect our liberty and freedoms here at home. Some may ask, “Why has the USA been so blessed?” Psalm 33:12 answers that question, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.” Our part is to remain faithful to the true king of the USA: King Jesus.
Though we have not been faithful to our King, He is always faithful. Faithfulness is one of His character traits. He is forever faithful: semper fi. But do not be dismayed because 2 Chronicles 7:14, TLB, tells us, “Then if my people will humble themselves and pray, and search for me, and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear them from heaven and forgive their sins and heal their land.”
May you remember on this day of celebration that there is liberty in this land because King Jesus is Lord of this nation. Rejoice in His goodness and faithfulness. Follow the instructions from 2nd Chronicles and see her return to her King. God Bless America.
