When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head and [voluntarily] gave up His spirit.
Dear ones: It is Finished! Yes, death, hell, and the grave are defeated foes for those who are in Christ. But in Luke 19:13 the Lord tells His followers, “Occupy until I come!” We are to enforce His victory over the minions of darkness. They are liars and deceivers. These are the weapons they use to get us to back away from occupying in victory the land and the life we have in Him.
It is Good Friday, and it is good to think about these things. We are empowered to use His authority over all the power of the enemy. But to be successful at this, we must have a warrior’s mindset. The Lord Jesus is our example for He is God’s Champion and our Savior. Christianity’s end goal is to be like Him and act like Him in all that we do. We are more than conquerors through Christ. Let make a freewill determination to take up His warrior’s mantle and swing His sword against all that contends with us today.
May the words, “It is Finished,” resonate in your spirit, soul, and body. Look in the mirror and see the face of a warrior looking back at you. He is invincible in battle, and so shall you be as you pursue Christ-likeness. Have a blessed Good Friday. Resurrection Day lies right ahead. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
