Because of the sacrifice of the Messiah, his blood poured out on the altar of the Cross, we’re a free people—free of penalties and punishments chalked up by all our misdeeds. And not just barely free, either. Abundantly free! He thought of everything, provided for everything we could possibly need, letting us in on the plans he took such delight in making. He set it all out before us in Christ, a long-range plan in which everything would be brought together and summed up in him, everything in deepest heaven, everything on planet earth.
Dear Ones: Abundantly Free! Yes, our Father thought of everything in His plan of salvation for the human race. All of the feasts He gave to Israel point to the first and second coming of our Lord Jesus. The animal sacrifices on the Day of Atonement could only push back the punishment for sin one year at a time. But when Messiah poured out His Blood on the altar of the Cross it was for the total remission of sin. Those who welcome His sacrifice are made Abundantly Free from the rule of darkness over their lives.
Today is Passover. The day He paid our debt for the wages of sin is death. God’s Messiah, His Champion, went into the depth of hell for us. There He waged war against the devil and his minions. He stripped the evil one of the keys of death, hell, and the grave. Then He led the captive righteous dead to heaven and returned for His body. His resurrected body is the ultimate proof of His total victory. WOW! Now we get to enforce His victory over the evil one in our lives.
May you come to appreciate and honor the work of the Cross that set you abundantly free from all of the power of darkness. Let His victory fully reign in your heart so that the dark one can no longer victimize you or your family. He is the Great Overcomer and He lives in you. Rejoice in His willing sacrifice: His Blood was shed for you. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
