The Faithful God

Understand, therefore, that the Lord your God is the faithful God who for a thousand generations keeps his promises and constantly loves those who love him and who obey his commands.
Deuteronomy 7:9 (TLB)

Dear Ones: The Faithful God! He is our Father Who keeps covenant with us through our generations past, present, and to come. Faithfulness is one of the fruits of the Spirit. These fruits are the character traits of the Godhead: Father, Son, and Spirit. The Godhead is immutable which means unchanging, absolute.

Our Father keeps His promises. He had them written down so that we might see the fulfillment of them throughout history. The nation of Israel is a constant witness of promises made and kept. It was by His hand that Israel was reborn a nation after WWII even after two dispersions. He carries out His promises through time, however, He watches over us as we work through the delays. Obeying Him even in the dry seasons of our lives brings great rewards. The best reward is the intimate relationship that we develop with Him in the wilderness. Even as he ran from King Saul, David never gave up on God’s promises. His wilderness times strengthened David and his mighty men as the Lord continually delivered them from their enemies.

May your hope be rooted in the faithful God. Meditate on His faithfulness this weekend. You will be amazed at how many times He has delivered you from difficult situations. These times were not mere coincidences but the manifestation of His saving hand. You are an overcomer. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
